This was story that happened without me really, but it did happen "in my home" - aka, The Orphan Pet facebook page. It took me a day to realize that under a post about Ellie, the woman who managed to bring her Greek stray from Greece to Australia, another fairy tale was happening, as comments were going back and forth, among Meredith, her friend Sheldon, and two Greek rescuers who contacted each other and located the dog she had fallen in love with. Nafpactos, where Charisma comes from, has a huge number of strays, animal abuse is an everyday thing and the local rescuers really struggle. The fact that Charisma was found alive and well is itself a miracle.
The money raised from the crowdfunding will go to her medical bills and transportation fees from Greece to Phoenix. The rescue is run by volunteers. Any extra money raised will be donated back to help rescue other dogs in need.
